Hi, I'm Nicola.
Three words describe my textile practice: simple, natural, crafted.
I'm passionate about helping new eco printers and those wishing to work in a more environmentally mindful way go from overwhelmed and frustrated to empowered, confident and creating beautifully colourful textiles, time after time.
Since starting to eco print, I've planted over 13500 trees on my property in rural Ireland and laid out large natural dye borders. As well as providing vegetation for the studio, these support a diverse selection of butterflies, insects, birds and mammals which help convey the wider ecological aspect of my practice.

English is not my first language. Can I still participate?
Absolutely!
While there are no subtitles with the videos, I have taught many people for whom English is not their first language and they have not had problems following along.
In the comprehensive library of lessons and step by step videos, there is plenty of text to accompany what I demonstrate so you will be able to translate this using Google translate.
Rest assured, you’ll have the support you need to enjoy and understand the eco printing process.

When fresh leaves are scarce, it’s a wonderful opportunity to focus on practicing technique and experimenting with different effects or pretreatment of fabric—skills that will make your prints even more beautiful once fresh vegetation is available.
In the Dirty Pot Club, you’ll find a wealth of information about vegetation from different parts of the world and learn how you can store leaves for future use.
I also encourage everyone not to forget onion skins and a few other selected kitchen ingredients—these will enable you to create beautiful prints, all year round.
